<p>Adridu59 from XDA Developer Forum has posted a working version of the VLC Player for Android and has now reached the beta stage. As of now the release is slated for only a few based processors: ARMv6/ARM11, ARMv7a/Cortex-A8/NEON and ARMv7a/Cortex-A9. And also made for Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich device only.<br />

Due to large number of Android smartphone models, it is difficult to list down all. However, if your device are the high end smartphones that were released in last 12 months you can certainly try out the VLC for Android.</p>

<p><strong>Step for install CyanogenMod 7 on Motorola Defy</strong></p>
<p>If you not need to flash new ROM or your device is Android 2.2 Froyo, you can go to step 5.</p>
<ol>
<li>[Computer], Install RSD Lite and open it.</li>
<li>[Defy] Power off your phone, then  pressing power button and Volume Up keys.</li>
<li>[Computer], On the RSD Lite you should browse the .sbf file then click start.</li>
<li>Wait until the flash process completed.</li>
<li>[Defy], go to settings -&gt; Applications -&gt; Development -&gt; check the USB debugging.</li>
<li>[Computer], Extract and run SuperOneClick then click Root.</li>
<li>Wait until root process completed.</li>
<li>[Defy], Go to market and install Defy 2ndinit.</li>
<li>Open Defy 2ndinit and install 2ndInit Recovery.</li>
<li>After it succeeds the top LED will green, then go to settings -&gt; Applications -&gt; Development -&gt; uncheck the USB debugging.</li>
<li>Reboot your device 2 time.</li>
<li>[Computer], Copy cyangenmod7.zip and googleapps.zip to the root of your sd card.</li>
<li>[Defy], Reboot your device, when the blue led lights at Motorola logo, press Volume Down to enter Bootmenu.</li>

<li>Go to &#8220;[Custom Recovery] start&#8221;.</li>
<li>You should to take a backup of the existing ROM using the Backup option.</li>
<li>Select &#8220;wipe cache partition&#8221; then &#8220;wipe data/factory reset&#8221;.</li>
<li>Select &#8220;install zip from sdcard&#8221;, &#8220;choose zip from sdcard&#8221;, then select &#8220;cm7.1.0-RC1-jordan-signed.zip&#8221;</li>

How to unlock the Atrix 4G Bootloader</p>
<p>If you have a Motorola Atrix 4G you’ll need to root your phone, Gingerbread version of your phone and then download the appropriate utilities from below:</p>

<p>So, If you already downloaded the required utilities from above, the step below is a step-by-step guide to unlock the Atrix 4G:</p>

<li>Open and extract the Fastboot package from above.</li>
<li>Open a command prompt window and go to Fastboot directory</li>
<li>Power off your Atrix device</li>
<li>Hold the power button and the volume down button until you see “Fastboot”</li>
<li>press the volume up button once then you will now see “Starting Fastboot protocol support”</li>
<li>Plug your device into a USB port  and type the following command:<br />
fastboot oem unlock</li>
<li>The warning message along with a unique device ID has showed</li>
<li>Copy device ID and type the following commands where XXXX is device ID:<br />
fastboot oem unlock XXXX<br />
fastboot reboot</li>
<li>Wait for your device to reboot.</li>

<p>Now the superb community XDA-Developers user has already released a Cyanogen Mod 7 ROM (Android 2.3 Gingerbread) to the LG Optimus One. While LG themselves have not mentioned any plan for upgrading the device to Gingerbread yet, it does not mean the device will not be tasting it.</p>
<p><strong>How to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread Cyanogenmod 7 on LG Optimus One</strong><br />

<li>CyanogenMod 7 ROM for LG Optimus from <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354&amp;highlight=format" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">XDA-Developers</a>.</li>
<li>Google Apps for the CyanogenMod 7 from <a href="http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CyanogenMod.com</a>.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Step for install CyanogenMod 7 on LG Optimus One:</h3>
<p><strong>1. Setup the Android SDK</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>[Computer] Install Android SDK with “Run as administrator”.</li>

<li>[Computer] Set your PATH variable by click right on Computer and select Properties.</li>
<li>[Computer] In the window that opens, select “Advanced system settings”, and select “Environment Variables”.</li>
<li>[Computer] Another window will open, in the bottom text box select “Path” and click the button labeled “Edit…”</li>
<li>[Computer] You’ll see a new dialog where you can enter text. Navigate to the end of the existing text, and enter the following exactly as written:

<p><strong>2. Install recovery system and prepare CynogenMod 7 ROM</strong></p>

<li>[LG Optimus One] Turn on USB Storage.</li>
<li>[Computer] Create &#8220;recoveryflash&#8221; folder on sdcard.</li>
<li>[Computer] Download and unzip <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ypk7fylpd9ihn4t" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recoveryflash.zip</a> to recoveryflash folder on sdcard.</li>
<li>[Computer] Download recovery image for LG Optimus One, <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?0ctwdoptpgcogwp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a> and rename recovery image to &#8220;recovery.img&#8221;.</li>
<li>[Computer] Place the &#8220;recovery.img&#8221; to recoveryflash folder on sdcard.</li>
<li>[Computer] Copy CyanogenMod 7 ROM for LG Optimus and Google Apps to root of sdcard, then turn off USB Storage.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] Reboot phone and wait for sdcard to mount after you see home screen.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] Turn on USB debugging mode by goto settings -&gt; apllications -&gt;Development -&gt; USB debugging.</li>
<li>[Computer] Become shell user by open the Windows command prompt and and type:

<li>The script will automatically install &amp; reboot you into new recovery.</li>

<p><strong>3. Install Cyanogenmod 7 (Gingerbread) on the LG Optimus One</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>After following the &#8220;Install recovery system and prepare CynogenMod 7&#8243;, you phone will boot into recovery menu.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] Remember to take a backup of the existing ROM using the Backup / Restore option.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] After that, select the Flash ZIP from SD Card option and select the Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] In a few minutes, your LG Optimus One will reboot and it will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread Cyanogenmod 7.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] Repeat Flash ZIP from SD Card option for the installation of the Google Apps for CyanogenMod 7.</li>
<li>[LG Optimus One] After installation, perform another Factory Reset/Data wipe &amp; a Cache wipe to avoid problems such as Boot loops and hang ups.</li>
</ul>
<p>Tips: To boot into custom recovery, press and hold the Volume-Down key + Home Key + Power key and release keys at the LG splash logo.</p>
