iPhone 5 reported in production with A5 chip for September launch

DigiTimes report that the Pegatron Technology have landed orders for 15 million iPhone 5s (iPhone 4S) from Apple and will begin shipping in this September.

DigiTimes report also refers to the new iPhone 5 device as the iPhone 4S, which does not seem to have any major update from iPhone 4. While Bloomberg reports indicated the device may contain the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 5 device may include a dualmode wireless chip capable of using both CDMA and GSM networks, in addition to a new Gobi WWAN chip already found in the Verizon iPhone.

Apple iOS 5 beta 2 for developers now available for download

Hey iOS developers, iOS 5 beta 2 (Build 9A5248) is now available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices for your downloading in the Dev Center. Apple has also pushed out new iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 for developers and wireless sync.

The iOS 5.0 beta 2, wireless syncing are requires iTunes 10.5 beta 2 and OS X 10.6.8 or Lion. You will see an option to enable wireless syncing when you connect your device to iTunes with the USB cable. The wireless syncing is triggered automatically when the device is connected to power and on the same network as the paired computer. Or, you can manually trigger a sync from iTunes or from Settings -> General -> iTunes Sync (same network as paired computer required).

Apple IOS 5 jailbreak software – Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 released

It didn’t take long for a jailbreak of IOS 5 to be released, now Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 has been released for Mac users. The latest IOS 5 was jailbroken within 24 hours after Apple announced it at its WWDC conference. A member of the developer team showed pictures of IOS 5 running the Cydia application. The jailbreak is tethered only, so you’ll have to plug back into your machine each time you need to reboot.

Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 is available now for Mac user only, you can download via the Iphone Dev Team blog. The software also supports the Ipod Touch 3G and 4G, Ipad 1 and Iphone 3GS and 4.

Opera Mini 6.0 lands on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch

Opera Mini 6 browser is now available to download for free from the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. Opera Mini 6 features up to 90% compression of data traffic for speed and cost savings. The overall design of the web explorer has also been freshened up, with a “new look and feel,” while a social sharing function will let you blast URLs into Facebook, Twitter or vKontakte directly from the app.

iPhone 5 to be new design with multi-touch home button, 3.7-inch display

The design to be thin, metal-backed, tapered, and sporting a 3.7-inch display with the same 960 x 640 resolution in the iPhone 4′s retina display. The home button is quite obviously enlarged, adding some thumbable gestures that are definitely coming in a future version of iOS.
