Joshua Topolsky of This is my next blog claimed that sources have told him that the iPhone 5 will radically change. The design to be thin, metal-backed, tapered, and sporting a 3.7-inch display with the same 960 x 640 resolution in the iPhone 4′s retina display. The home button is quite obviously enlarged, adding some thumbable gestures that are definitely coming in a future version of iOS.

The iPhone 5 will take advantage of Qualcomm Gobi chipset that supports both CDMA and GSM cellular technology to make the device a “world phone.” It might also come with NFC support as well and some sort of wireless/inductive charging as well

Two of the four sources could only confirm they were ramping up for a new round of production in the first quarter for components previously supplied for the original iPad, while other said the ramp-up was for a new iPad. And one of those said the revamped model would feature cameras on the front and rear, while the other said the new model would be slimmer, lighter and have a better resolution display.

Camera component suppliers Genius Electronic Optical Co and Largan Precision Co were also reportedly starting new “supply deals” with Apple, though sources were unable to confirm for which products.

Other report, Taiwan industry publication DigiTimes reported that Foxconn Electronics will ship Apple’s iPad 2 within the next 100 days with initial shipments to reach 400,000-600,000 units.
