Samsung GALAXY S II sells 3 million units within 55 days

Samsung has announced that the company sold three million units of the its GALAXY S II in just 55 days, which works out to one phone every 1.5 seconds.

The GALAXY S II is a beautifully thin (8.49mm) and lightweight, dual-core smartphone that combines an unmatched Super AMOLED Plus viewing experience with incredible performance, all on Android, the world’s fastest-growing mobile operating system.

Galaxy S Gingerbread update now releasing in Europe

The Android 2.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S would come in mid-April. Now reports from xda-developers that has some users successfully updating their Hummingbird-equipped handsets. It’s a limited roll-out, benefiting the Nordic countries, Holland and Germany first, but we doubt Samsung will hold out on the rest of Europe for much longer. If you want to try your luck, boot up your Kies updating utility and pray to your nearest tech deity.
